Our clinic provides comprehensive autism evaluations for individuals of all ages. We utilize a range of sources, from evidence-based assessments, such as the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule-2nd Edition (ADOS-2), clinical observations and family input to determine a diagnosis. Our clinical team is led by graduate speech-language pathology students who have received training in assessment of autism and are supervised by licensed and certified speech-language pathologists who are NIU faculty members. Additionally, we strive to have a multidisciplinary team by:
Utilizing pediatric audiologists during our evaluation, when appropriate
Receiving family input through a collected case history and questionnaires
Contacting other relevant professionals in the individual's life who may provide additional information regarding an autism diagnosis, such as occupational therapists (OT), physical therapists (PT), psychologist/psychiatrists and/or teachers
Call us at 815-753-1481 or email asd@niu.edu to schedule an evaluation. If using insurance for an evaluation, we require a pediatrician or physician referral. Self-pay rates are available upon request.
