Proficiency Credit for Nursing (RN-B.S.)
The RN-B.S. in nursing program awards credit to registered nurses for the education and learning experiences you have already acquired. If you are a registered nurse who graduated from a state-approved ADN or diploma nursing program, you may receive up to 33 semester hours of credit. You must complete 12 semester hours of nursing credit at NIU with a grade of C or better in order to transfer the credits
Policy Statement for RN Proficiency Examination
If you are a RN who graduated from an ADN or diploma program more than five years ago and have not practiced as a registered nurse in the last two years, you may challenge certain nursing courses by proficiency examination.
