Planning Sequence of Courses for Nursing (M.S.)
You should plan your tentative sequence prior to meeting with your faculty advisor using the following:
Make sure that the courses are available for the semester you want and that you will have met all prerequisites and corequisites. Your faculty advisor will review and discuss your plan with you before approving it. After that, the director of nursing graduate studies will approve your plan and return it to you as an electronic copy.
Be sure to follow your approved course sequence. Any changes in your plans need to go through the approval process and will require a new course sequence form and signatures. Please note that clinical internship rotations in NURS 603, 623 and 633 (Nursing Ed track) and NURS 653, 663 and 673 (FNP track) must be completed with a preceptor in Illinois.
