The application deadline for the summer/fall semester is March 1 and Sept. 1 for the spring semester.

Admission Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree
• Graduate School application
• Official transcripts
• GRE test scores
• Two letters of recommendation

Acceptance to the LAS program

After admission to the applied human development and family sciences, leadership in aging studies specialization, you have 30 days to notify us of your intention to register for classes during the term for which you were admitted. Please send a letter of intent to register to:

Special Requirements for Fieldwork in Gerontology

A fingerprint-based criminal background check and drug screening are required prior to supervised fieldwork. Leadership in aging studies may not be able to place students in supervised fieldwork if they have positive drug screen results or if the student has a criminal record. Therefore, the student may not be able to complete the leadership in aging studies program.
