Health Education


The public health and health education programs at Northern Illinois University offer several options at the undergraduate and graduate level for students interested in teaching health education in Illinois public schools.

  • B.S.Ed. degree for students seeking a major in health education
  • Preparation for initial teacher licensure for Health Education at the 6-12 level
  • Minor in health education for students in another teaching major seeking to add health education to their teaching certificate
  • Certified Health Education Specialist

Admissions are currently suspended for the Master of Arts in Teaching (M.A.T.) and Master of Science in Teaching (M.S.T.) in Health Education.
